20-Mile-Wide UFO in Our Solar System?

At the Awake and Aware Conference in Los Angeles in September 2009, Alex Collier claimed that there is a 20-mile-wide UFO sitting 1.5 million miles off our South Pole. Collier claims to have inside information about the government’s interest in this craft and stated that NASA, as well as other government organizations have been monitoring this craft since early 2009. According to Collier, the craft is sitting stationary and has had smaller craft entering and exiting it. The craft is what some are equating to the Death Star as seen in the Star Wars movies. A large extraterrestrial craft housing a civilization, complete with smaller crafts capable of entering and exiting, roaming the galaxy.

Collier stated that the craft is hostile and in the years to come, we will see a real life Science Fiction movie play out before our very eyes. In his opinion, a craft sitting stationary as if to intentionally be seen by our planet, is a display of power and friendly ET’s don’t go on power trips! He warns that we need to prepare for an invasion of unimaginable proportions.

Now, let’s take a look at who Alex Collier is. Alex Collier claims to have had contact with an extraterrestrial race from the constellation Andromeda, who are said to be, Nordic looking Humans. He experienced his first encounter at age 8 and has since had a long lasting relationship with this race of extraterrestrials and has gathered a substantial amount of information from them. In his 30’s he decided it would be prudent to share his exclusive and extensive knowledge with the public. He has been doing just that, ever since.

Is this object in the sky a real alien craft, or something less exotic, yet to be determined? You can view the very large object on sky-map.org by typing in 19 25 21-89 46 03 in the search box. There is undoubtedly something there, something that does not appear to be a star. Is it a hostile craft, gearing up for an attack on earth? Personally, I’m not quite so eager to jump to the Star Wars conclusion. It would certainly be exciting to have proof of intelligent life on another planet, but has anything really been proved by finding this large, odd looking object in the sky?

2014 Tennessee Titans NFL Draft Report Card and Player Analysis

The Tennessee Titans had the 11th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Did they choose a QB to compete with the oft injured Jake Locker or replace the once dazzling Chris “CJ2K,” Johnson at running back. Ken Whisenhunt first year on the job as head coach along with the death of long time owner and longest tenured NFL team owner Bud Adams, presents many challenges for the Titans. The Titans were active in signing their own free agents, cutting some of their dead “wood” overpaid players and securing some excellent talent from the free agent pool.

Players signed in free agency:

  • Dexter McCluster WR, RB, from the Kansas City Chief–Primarily a wide receiver but also a running back and special teams return man. Great speed and flexibility at position Whisenhunt envisions him playing more at RB but that remains to be seen and this writer highly doubts.
  • Al Woods DT, from the Pittsburgh Steelers–Should bolster the defensive line at tackle and should immediately shine in their 3-4 scheme as a run stuffer.
  • Charlie Whitehurst QB, from the San Diego–Followed Whisenhunt from the San Diego Chargers to back up Jake Locker. Surprised many considering he replaces Ryan Fitzpatrick, arguably a better player but Whitehurst is a more accustomed to Whisenhunt’s offense. A good replacement if Locker winds up on the injured reserve again.
  • Wesley Woodyard MLB, from the Denver Broncos–Primarily used as nickel back linebacker in Denver, Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton will use him in situational times if a game. A pretty expensive player considering he won’t be on the field more than 40% of the time. Not a good run tackling defender so not sure if it was a wise move considering a veteran player, Paris Lenon took the starting spot from him in Denver last year. Only time will tell.
  • Michael Oher OT, from the Baltimore Raven–Not sure what to make of this signing other than they overpaid for a player that had serious issues in Baltimore. Scares me to think that 4 years, $20 million is the going rate for a player who hasn’t “figured it out yet.” Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome has a nose for talent and he knows when to cut bait. This will be a clear case of a player busting out and a team overpaying for a right tackle.

Losing CJ2K and Alterraun Verner at CB and the injury of Jake Locker would suggest the Titans concentrate their draft at these positions, but that didn’t happen exactly.

2014 NFL Draft

Taylor Lewan OT Michigan Round 1 Pick #11

With Michael Roos play at OT leaving much to be desired, Titans use their first pick of the draft on this highly ranked Offensive Tackle. Overlooking the legal issue surrounding Taylor, he is a great pick because Roos is playing out his final year of his contract. Maturity level; is the only question. He is a top notch talent if he stays out of trouble, The Titans have their OT for the next 7 years.

Bishop Sankey RB Washington Round 2 Pick #22

An excellent value pick getting a top rated running back at overall #54 in the draft. He has all the tools to easily replace C2K and complement Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster in the backfield.

DaQuan Jones DT Penn State Round 4 Pick #12

With this pick and the lack of a superstar edge rusher, we might see a defensive scheme change to take advantage of their players talent. 6’4″ 320 pounder bull rusher with technique. Easily sheds blocks and collapses the pocket. Problem with DaQuan seems to be motivation and hustle. Can be an asset if he embraces a work ethic on and off the field and fits nicely as a one technique 4-3 or a five technique 3-4 player.

Marqueston Huff Free Safety Wyoming Round 4 Pick #22

An often times lazy technique player with small hands and average ball awareness. Speedy, running a sub 4.5 at the NFL Combine and an aggressive tackler but with poor technique. A definite project for the Titans and Huff needs a patient secondary coach to get all the talent to come to the surface. Could be transitioned to take over for the loss of Alterraun Verner in free agency at Cornerback. Which looks to be the case as they didn’t draft any CBs. Look for Huff to be the Titans starting CB in 2014.

Avery Williamson ILB Kentucky Round 5 Pick #11

Suited to play inside linebacker in a 4-3 scheme. Good natural ability with a work ethic with a sound understanding of the game and the position. Could be an ideal candidate to transition to Strong Safety as he has the ability to play like a hybrid defensive back and inside linebacker. Has an issue getting away from a block and could be used in the nickel patrolling the middle.

Zach Mettenberger QB LSU Round 6 Pick #2

Drafted to be a third string QB behind Locker and Whitehurst, Mettenberger will have plenty of time getting up to speed on the NFL defensive packages. Coming off a college injury and not fully healed, found Mettenberger fall as a highly desired prospect to a 6th rounder. A low risk, high reward draft pick by Tennessee that Whisenhunt can work with considering Mettenberger is your typical strong arm, pocket passer. Needs some work seeing the field and has to work on his mechanics and shorten his release. His ACL injury is still suspect and his coming in out of shape and overweight in college. If they can clean up his delivery, take his blinders off and build his confidence, Mettenberger might be a starter one day, if he works hard and the stars all align in his favor. Personally, I think he is a career back up, and a short career at that.

Analysis and overall draft grade

Overall, The Titans had an ok draft. Taylor Lewan will be a big player for them as will Bishop Sankey. The rest are all mediocre talent with a chance to become everyday players. Some might not even make the 45 man roster on Sunday.

Draft Grade

B minus– The Titans really needed to step up and get a replacement at CB. I understand their thinking on drafting Sankey, but with the devaluation of the running back position, they should have chosen a CB in the second round and got their RB later or tried to trade for one before the season began since Robert Turbin and a few others may be soon available.

2014: The Year of Long-Awaited Sequels

Movies marques all over look like they have more numbers than letters on them with the amount of sequels released. Sequels seemingly dominate the market and with the amount of box office success this trend will not go away anytime soon. Love them or hate them, we are going to get our fair share of continued stories.

However, 2014 looks like it could be a year where we get more than the typical sequel. Good things come to those who wait and in 2014 we should get three treats that we have patiently anticipated.

300: The Rise of an Empire

We all remember the movie that made having visible abs a must. Comic book geeks everywhere with pot bellies decided to do a few extra crunches hoping it may help them look like the stars of Frank Miller’s ‘300.’ Seven years have already passed since the first film was released and finally we get our sequel. ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ is more than your typical sequel. The film will fill in some of the missing pieces before and during the events of the first film as well as what happens after. We can most likely expect much of the same, violence on top of more violence. Marvel Comic Book films continue to succeed and earn money so this film’s release is no surprise. The film is set to be released on March 7.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Add another must-see sequel brought to us by Frank Miller with ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.’ The wait for this sequel has been even longer, the original ‘Sin City’ released in 2005. Nine years later we get a few more stories with some familiar characters including Marv played by Mickey Rourke and Dwight this time played by Josh Brolin. In the original Dwight was played by Clive Owen, but as already explained in the first film, he has undergone facial reconstruction surgery making him unrecognizable to some. The film will also feature Josh Gordon-Levitt as a gambler who we can only assume runs into some sort of trouble. The first film was very well-received and opened up a door to the graphic novel genre of less popular comic books becoming feature films. If the sequel comes out anything like the original expect a trilogy to finish it off sometime in the future. The film is set to be released on August 22.

Dumb and Dumber To

Two decades and the laughs are still there with the 1994 film ‘Dumb and Dumber.’ Could we have lived a happy fulfilling life without a sequel? If you have seen the first movie then you can agree that ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ is worth the risk. A movie that is so dumb, said as a compliment, it uses poor grammar in the title; this sequel had been talked about for years. Finally the original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were convinced to come back for one last adventure and this year we will get it. Will the jokes live up to the first film or will they try too hard to make us laugh? Will the story be original enough or will we get recycled material? Whatever the end product is, comedy fans everywhere have their big gulps ready, their Samsonite luggage packed, and their radios turned off. Who needs radio when you have a sequel to one of the funniest comedies–dare I say, ever? The film is set to be released on November 14.

2016 Olympics Summer Games - Rio

2016 Olympics Summer Games host city vote took place Oct. 2. Additional 2016 Olympics news of the USOC board, IOC president, two new sports, and upcoming movie project is included.
USOC Board for 2016 Olympics.

CEO Stephanie Streeter has stated that she will not seek an extension of her position which is over year end. According to the Chicago Tribune, Larry Probst made the following statement: “Having a new CEO on board by the end of the year will allow that individual to attend the Vancouver Games, providing an invaluable opportunity to make an immediate impact and collaborate directly with our partners at the Games.”

Olympians have asked for a bigger role in the USOC. Their requests include a place on the board and to be involved in the search process for CEO(s).

IOC President Re-elected
Jacques Rogge was re-elected president of the International Olympics Committee (IOC) for another four years by a majority vote of 88-1. This will be Rogge’s last term expiring in 2013. It is expected that Rogge will act out his political goals in upcoming committee decisions.

One of the challenges facing Rogge will be to try and cut down the number of athletes in events so that smaller countries can hold the Olympics. This moderation will be helped by the cost overruns for the 2012 Olympics being held in London.

Another challenge is drawing young people back to the games and working conditions for the Olympics. Marketing is planned to entice young athletes.

Golf and Rugby – New in 2016 Olympics
Golf and rugby have gained admission to 2016 Olympics by an IOC vote. Golf garnered votes of 63 to 27, while rugby did better with 81 to 8 votes. According to Foxsports.com, Peter Dawson, chief executive of the R&A and joint secretary of the IGF (International Golf Federation), said, “It’s a historic day for golf and the future growth of the game.”

IGF has recommended a 72-hole play format for both men and women. A quote from Foxsports.com of Phil Mickelson had this to say, “Everybody is very excited that golf became an Olympic sport, and we are working hard on our games so that over the next six years we are able to make the team and represent our country in the Olympics.”

Rio only has 100 golf courses and it does not appear any are of professional caliber. According to Golfweek, lack of a professional course, could lead to PGA Tour Golf Course Properties building a TPC-branded course in Rio. David Pillsbury, president and chief operating officer of PGA Tour Golf course Properties said, “We will be evaluating all the courses in Rio de Janeiro and talking to prospective partners in Rio about building something similar to TPC San Antonio, with a resort, a couple golf courses and a location that would be ideal to the Olympic city.”

Rugby has a problem with three countries that only represent men’s teams due to religious, cultural, and political reasons. IOC is acting in diplomacy with these countries.

Rio’s Upcoming Movie Project with Woody Allen
Woody Allen’s production company has sent a scouting group to Rio this month. Scouting group was seen around landmarks including Christ the Redeemer statue park, Sugar Loaf Mountain, and Botanical Garden. According to LA Times, Steve Solot, Latin America chief for the Motion Picture Association, said about the possibility of a Woody Allen movie, “It will be a postcard for the city and state and a step toward making Rio a real destination not just for filming but for tourists leading up to the World Cup and Olympics.”

During the Barcelona Games, Woody Allen’s movie, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” attracted tourism to Spain. Typically, a movie production produces about $200,000 a day into local spending in restaurants, services, and lodging.

Let the news flow now and between 2016 Olympics Summer Games.

2014 Spring Wedding Trends for Invitations

Spring is near and many brides-to-be are beginning to plan their March, April, or May weddings! After choosing the theme and colors for your wedding, take a look at the new 2014 spring wedding invitation trends to aide you in selecting an invitation that best coordinates with your chosen theme and colors.

Pantone, the global authority on color has released the top Wedding Color Trends for Spring Weddings for the 2014 season. Now is the time to choose the color scheme of your up and coming spring wedding! I must say, the colors chosen this year are simply gorgeous! There are too many to list, but three of my favorites are Hemlock, (a beautiful shade of mint green), Radiant Orchid (a lovely purple), and Placid Blue (an enchanting coastal blue!)

2014 Spring Wedding Invitation Trends

Silhouette invitations are trending in 2014 because they so versatile. The silhouette on the card does not have to be the bridge and groom’s faces (although this is a popular style, usually in black). If you having garden wedding among all of the beautiful freshly blooming flowers, you would prefer a color silhouette of your feature flower or flowers on the wedding invitations! Silhouetted cards can be vintage, formal, chic, modern and fun!

Petite and dainty is a hot trend for 2014 wedding invitations. Brides will be asking for sizes smaller than the standard 5×7, according to Bridal Guide Magazine.

According to Bridal Guide Magazine, metallic invitations are big for 2014! If you choose a glamorous theme for your spring wedding, look at using metallic on your invitations to add spark! The traditional gold or silver stamps have given way to new metallic bronze and rose shades.

Also trending in 2014, wedding invitations adorned with freehand drawing are in demand this 2014. Any artist can help transfer your dreams to your invitations. These invitations are custom made so only your imagination can limit you!

Floral invitations are coming back this year after being banished to the gardens somewhat. Imagine an old-fashioned floral calico or a vintage botanical printed in gold on the back of a letter pressed card. This type of card would be perfect for a vintage themed spring wedding.

Examples of all of these wedding invitation trends can be found here. I hope you are inspired from the new 2014 trends on wedding invitations mentioned here, and you will use the links within the article to begin your search for your perfect spring wedding invitation!

21 Days/21 Ways and How to Get "IT!"

Allow me to share with you why I wrote this blog. A friend and I were riding to church one Sunday and I saw it. A sign that was professionally printed that read as follows?

LOSE THREE INCHES IN MINUTES!”

Here is the first of many get real moments you will find in this blog. While it pains me to write this because I know it’s the last thing many of you would like to hear but “Things that last will take time.” Are you still there? Did you go to the ESPN page to check scores or look for the latest sales on eBay? Great, well if I still got your attention I will continue. (Close call)

What made me think about that sign was the fact that losing three inches in a month was no longer acceptable. Three inches in three week? That can be done with an old Jane Fonda VHS tape. Three inches in three days? Cute but it’s not going to fly in our society. We need it faster! To get the phone ringing the weight had to be lost in minutes. I could see a woman buying the product, buying a dress three sizes too small, rushing home to start the program and then missing her party because she could not fit in her dress. I can see her drowning her sorrows in a hot fudge sundae and her internal thoughts becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. The woman in this illustration would not have failed because she did not have focus-she just had poor direction. She also failed because there is a certain safety and comfort in failure. She can honestly look at herself in the mirror and say, “Hey I tried,” and the moment she adds reinforcing statements like “I tried every diet out there,” or “Everybody in my family is fat so it’s just the way it is,” or worst yet, “I’ll never lose weight,” she has started a fire that that could initially start in her soul and be evidenced in her appearance.

Your focus is fine. That’s proven by the fact that you are reading this blog. For the rime period it takes to finish this blog from beginning to end its my goal to reshape your direction. In doing so we will not promise you lasting results in 21 minutes or 21 seconds but here is what we will do. We will give you a clear directive for the next 21 days and after it is over you will be astonished by all you will be able to achieve.

This blog will not ask you to walk on coals. It will not be another blog about win/win negotiations, keeping a life journal, sharpening the saw or goal setting. I am not knocking any of those approaches but they were presented in some form or another in the book that laid the ground work for all of these books, “Think and Grow Rich,” which was first published 1937. Think about the changes in our society since the first half of the twentieth century. Yes, we are essentially the same as humans, but cars are essentially the same, houses are essentially the same and so is music. But each have evolved in so many ways and so should the ways we encourage ourselves to move from one phase in our lives to the next.

So what else will this blog do for you? I’m so glad you asked. Stay tuned for more!

20th Anniversary of the Death of Kurt Cobain Service

I went to this Hollywood service in honor of the rock legend, Kurt Cobain. It’s one of those events you’re glad you attended. Let me start by saying that I do not believe in suicide, but I do understand how someone could get to a point that’s very low in their life, especially if drugs are involved. Author and Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson was there speaking and reading about his former friend. I had expected Courtney Love to be in attendance, but I did not see her at this standing room only event. It was held in Hollywood, in the back of a bookstore. It was a very fitting tribute to a man who’s work touched, and continues to touch generations of people.

I grew up during the time Kurt Cobain was at his most popular. If I’m being honest, I did not get his music. It seemed so sad to me, and slow. It would not be until years later that I would truly understand and appreciate it for what it was, and that was art of it’s own kind. You could not go anywhere without seeing teens in torn sweaters and his signature big sunglasses. When he and Courtney Love got together there were comparisons of Lennon and Yoko and I’m sure that did not help with Kurt’s depression either.

I personally suffer from mild depression, so I very well know the triggers that can intensify it, so I can certainly sympathize with the things he must surely have been going through, to a certain degree.
When Eric was reading, and reminding us of Kurt’s poems and lyrics it was a revisit into the mans soul, one of which was of hurt, confusion and pain. A lot of people have sadness in their life, but perhaps not quite on this particular level.

I’m not sure if somebody could have stepped in and helped him when he was at his lowest, or not, but it would have been quite fascinating to see what he would have gone on and done with his life, had he not taken it at such a young age. We’ll never know. But we do have the great words he shared with us, for forever, and that cannot be taken away from us as his life so tragically was.

21 Unique Wedding Bouquet Ideas

Traditional wedding bouquets are beautiful. The flowers in the bouquets that coordinate with the dresses add to the elegance of a wedding. More and more we now see couples trying to be different adding unique special touches to their wedding to make them personal and even more memorable.

A great way to do this is to trade the traditional flower bouquet for something a little different. Some alternatives could be a lot cheaper than the traditional fresh cut flowers.

Flowers of course are what you first think of for wedding bouquets. Fresh flowers (1) are no doubt breathtaking but can be very expensive. Silk flowers (2) are nice because they last and the wedding party can keep them as a memento. Paper flowers (3) are growing in popularity. You can see a variety of scrapbook style flowers, origami or tissue paper flowers as bouquets.

Fruits (4) and vegetables (5) are a nice alternative. Using fruit and vegetables that are in season when you have your wedding is a nice touch. A bundle of multicolored apples in a basket or in a bouquet are beautiful in the fall or maybe some Indian corn.

Bouquets made out of candy (6) or lollipops (7) can be really fun for a whimsical wedding. Clusters of lollipops in a bouquet are very cute or send your flower girls down the aisle with a gigantic sucker. That would be really cute and so would the smile on that little girls face knowing she gets to eat it when it’s all over.

Tastefully arranged feathers (8) make a great alternative. Peacock feathers were a very hot trend in Christmas of 2012. I anticipate seeing this trend carry over into this years wedding trends. Christmas ornaments (9) are beautiful and add some tulle and you have a fabulous bouquet. Bundles of pinecones (10) make a really nice earthy bouquet. You can spice them up with glitter, colored ribbon or tulle.

Lanterns (11) and candles (12) are a really nice touch for an alternative to flower bouquets. They also add to the ambiance of the wedding.

For those crafters, making a button bouquet (13) is a different spin on the traditional. You could also make a beaded bouquet (14) or use jewels (15). I have seen some photos on the Internet of sparkling and colorful broaches that have been put together to make a really gorgeous bouquet.

Collapsible fans (16) are elegant and can serve as dual purpose for those hot summer weddings also a nice touch for a southern style wedding. Parasol umbrellas (17) are another great alternative that could also be used to shade the wedding party from the sun.

A cluster of seashells (18) would be a beautiful accent to a nautical or beach themed wedding. Wrist corsages (19) could be a cheaper version of the traditional wedding flower bouquet.

Balloons (20) are a fun and whimsical alternative to tradition. Makes for a lot of fun pictures of the wedding. Pinwheels are another great idea. It gives a playful, fun vibe to the wedding.

Metal (21) also be really cool as an alternative. Sculpted metal in any color could be a very unique piece. For a great laugh at the wedding, the bride can hold a ball and chain or walk with it attached to her ankle. Or after the “I do” when the couple is about to walk down the aisle have the new husband attach the ball and chain to the wife!

Think outside the box and you can come up with some really great alternative ideas.
